Design & Production
-
Every REBE collection begins in Auckland, where each piece is developed through its fabric, silhouette and construction. From the first sample to the final fitting, we work closely with our makers to refine the details that give a design its shape and character.
Our approach is led by the product itself: what the design calls for, how it should feel and how it will be worn.

Design and Development
Each style goes through rounds of sampling and fitting before reaching production. Fabrics are tested, proportions adjusted and construction refined along the way.
We develop each piece directly with the specialist responsible for making it. Their knowledge informs the process, while the original design intent remains at the centre of the finished piece.
-
Materials
Materials are chosen for how they work with the design—how they drape, hold their shape, feel against the body and respond to wear.
Our collections bring together natural fibres such as wool, merino, cotton and silk, alongside technical and blended fabrics selected for a particular structure, finish or function. Our merino wool is predominantly sourced from Australia and New Zealand, while select leather and shearling are sourced from Nepal.
We also work with specialist mills and suppliers across Europe and Asia to find materials that bring something distinct to a piece. Fabric compositions and care information are provided on each product page.

Production
REBE works with a network of specialist makers across New Zealand, Portugal and China. Each partner is selected for its expertise in a particular product category, from tailoring and knitwear to footwear and accessories.
Our footwear has been developed with makers in Italy and Portugal, drawing on the specialist leatherwork and shoemaking knowledge of both regions. Selected accessories, including our Panama hats, are made locally in New Zealand.
Our team has visited every factory we work with. These direct relationships allow us to remain closely involved throughout development and production, while building a shared understanding of REBE’s fit, construction and finish over time.
Our production partners hold a range of recognised certifications covering workplace, environmental and quality standards. We favour ongoing relationships with makers who share our expectations around quality and responsible production.

Garment Care
We want REBE pieces to have a lasting place in the wardrobe. Quality of fabric and construction matters, but so does how a garment is cared for once it leaves us.
Care instructions are provided with every piece and on each product page. For advice specific to a fabric or garment, our team is available at info@rebe.co.nz.
We will continue to update this page as our materials, partnerships and production processes develop.
